As you all probably already know, CES 2015 is all but here, and a number of manufacturers will unveil their new devices today, including, Samsung, Sony, and LG. However, some companies couldn’t wait until CES, and revealed new gadgets right before the big event in Las Vegas, and Archos was one of them. Known for its budget-friendly smartphones and tablets, Archos announced a range of products – four smartphones and three tablets.
The most interesting phone, the 50 Diamond, offers a 5” display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, an octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of built-in storage (expandable). There is also a 16-megapixel camera on its back, and an 8-megapixel one on its front, plus dual SIM connectivity, LTE, Android 4.4.4 KitKat, and a 2,700mAh battery. We do not have exact pricing or release details, but we do know that it will cost less than £200.
Other three phones include the 45b Helium 4G (a 4.5” screen, a Qualcomm processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of storage, a 5-megapixel camera), the 50b Helium 4G (a 5” 720p display, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage), and the 50c Helium (a 5” display, a 5-megapixel camera, MediaTek processor).
Like we mentioned, aside from new phones, Archos unveiled new tablets, too: the 70 Helium 4G, the 80b Helium 4G, and the 101 Helium 4G. All three tablets have a MediaTek processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of built-in storage (expandable), a 2-megapixel rear camera, and a VGA front-facing shooter. The 70 Helium 4G offers a 7” screen and a 2,500mAh battery, the 80b Helium an 8” display and a 3,600mAh battery, while the 101 Helium has a 10” display, with a 6,500mAh battery.
We will likely learn more about these tablets and phones once CES officially kicks off, so stay tuned.
