The Difference Between Samsung Galaxy A3 2017 and Galaxy A3 2016

07/06/2017
The Difference Between Samsung Galaxy A3 2017 and Galaxy A3 2016

The Galaxy A3 comes in three models, but the last two are really fierce competitors. Whether you’re shopping on a budget or have decided to splurge a bit more, you should know what you’re getting for your money. That’s why we’ve prepared a thorough comparison to see how the specifications have changed.

Solid Budget Phones with a Couple of Changes

Both phones come with 4.7 inch high-definition Super AMOLED screens which give a clear and vivid picture. The design is elegant and very similar for both, combining metal and hard glass, and there are a couple of colours to choose from.

The Samsung Galaxy A3 2017 gives us a pleasant refresh for the 2016 version. There isn’t a level of difference that would make an enormous change to the everyday user experience, but the newer handset can definitely brag about a couple of upgraded features.

The first big difference is that the flagship model can withstand water for up to 30 minutes, so a spilt drink or a downpour won’t affect its performance. The same cannot be said for the Galaxy A3 2016.

A new security measure, present only on the 2017 model, is a fingerprint-sensitive sensor. Its nifty location is right on the home button, beneath the screen.

The 13-MP back camera matches on both editions, while the latest version has the front camera bumped from 5 to 8-MP for clearer selfie photos. Low lighting conditions remain a challenge to both devices.

The South Korean company has upgraded the RAM from 1.5GB to 2GB, with modest storage of 16GB, but with the option to increase it with a 256GB memory card. The processor is faster, and the battery capacity has been increased slightly. With the Galaxy A3 2017 you get a USB-C port for faster and easier data transfer and charging.

Choices Are Not Always Easy, but This Might Help

When in doubt, take a look at prices for the A3 and other pay-as-you-go Samsung phones. The final verdict and choice is entirely up to you. We hope that this review has been helpful, and are eager to hear your thoughts on the subject.
