LG Reportedly Ends the G Pro Series, Focuses on the LG G4

LG Reportedly Ends the G Pro Series, Focuses on the LG G4

All of you who liked the LG G Pro 2 and were expecting to see its successor in the future might end up getting disappointed. According to a recent report from South Korea, LG has allegedly decided to drop the G Pro family, and focus its time and resources on the upcoming flagship – the LG G4.

LG to Drop the G Pro Series

The company launched G Pro devices both in February last year and this year, which is why everyone thought February 2015 would be the same, but apparently we won’t be seeing any more G Pro handsets.

One of the reasons LG might have made this decision is because the latest G Pro phones and the LG G3 are close in size – the LG G Pro 2 comes with a 5.9” display, whereas the LG G3 sports a 5.5” one. What’s that got to do with anything? Well, customers who like large-screen devices will naturally opt for the G3 because it comes with superiors specs and features. As simple as that. And the LG G4 will most likely have an even bigger screen, making the G Pro series redundant.

G Pro 2

Another reason behind this could be the fact that the G Pro series didn’t manage to challenge Samsung’s Note series, and didn’t bring enough profit to the South Korean manufacturer.

Of course, perhaps neither of these are the real reason, but one thing’s for sure – be prepared to say goodbye to the Pro Series. It was rumoured that the G Pro 3 would arrive with the company’s NUCLUN chipset, but we’ve heard that it was faulty, so maybe that’s why the line’s getting discontinued.

As soon as we learn more about this, we’ll let you know. 🙂
