Phorm: Touchscreen Typing Just Got Easier

Phorm: Touchscreen Typing Just Got Easier

We don’t know about you, but some of us still haven’t got used to typing texts, emails, and other written documents on our touchscreen devices. Gone are the days when you could type without looking at your phone’s screen – now we spend 5 minutes trying to type out an SMS without making a mistake. Tablets are the same, if not worse. We get that it’s modern, that it’s the way technology is evolving, but it can get pretty frustrating sometimes. Thankfully, a new tablet and phone case called Phorm is looking to change this.

What is Phorm?

Phorm Case

Instead of always carrying around a detachable keyboard for your device, all you have to do is place it into the Phorm case. The case will then create a number of raised bumps on your screen (where your touchscreen keyboard is), and help you type more easily. Sounds pretty cool, doesn’t it?

Phorm Case SliderHave no fear – when you want your smooth touchscreen back, you can make the bumps go away simply by pushing a button. What’s even more interesting is that the case doesn’t use electricity for this. How is this possible? Well, the case consists of two parts: a backplate and a transparent microfluidic front plate. By moving the slider on its back, you push the fluid up through small holes in the front screen, which then forms the bumps.

Phorm is currently available for the iPad Mini and the iPhone 6, and its creators are raising money for their project on Tilt.

For more interesting tablet and phone cases, take a look at our range of accessories. 🙂
