Before the iPhone 6 came into focus, most of the rumours about Apple’s devices revolved around the upcoming iWatch. Sadly, Apple’s WWDC 2014 (the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference) came and went without any new devices and now we’re hearing that the iWatch might arrive in October.
An iWatch concept
One of Apple’s parts suppliers and sources claims that Apple will release the smartwatch in October, probably alongside the new iPhone (or iPhones). The rumour also suggests that Apple wants to produce between 3-5 million units a month.
Sources also say that the iWatch might sport a curved OLED display and sensors that monitor your health – they’ll measure calorie consumption, sleep activity, blood oxygen levels, blood glucose etc. The iWatch might collect biometric data via your iPhone’s Touch ID, too.
Aside from going on sale in October, the Apple’s iWatch is rumoured to run a new and improved version of iOS 8 and it will most likely come with Apple’s new HealthKit and a bunch of fitness apps. It’s yet to be confirmed whether the iWatch will initially work only with iPhones, but our guess is that it’s highly likely.
