It is an important week for Apple fans: the annual WWDC conference brings news about iOS, Mac OS and new hardware. WWDC stands for Worldwide Developer Conference 2013 and it will take place from June 10 to June 14, 2013 in San Francisco. Apple has promised new versions of iOS and OS X.
iOS 7: new design
WWDC this year will mainly be dominated by iOS 7. Apple has redesigned its mobile operating system and it was about time to do it, because the interface look of iOS has been unchanged for years. Apple’s top designer Jonathan Ive has led the project and iOS7 promises to get a flatter design. That means less virtual shadows, glossy icons, reliefs, and designs that mimic physical objects, such as leather cases in the calendar app, the casino table felt in Game Center or wooden bookcase in iBooks.
New features are also there for iOS. According to rumours, for example, users will be able to integrate photo service Flickr from Yahoo and video service Vimeo, an auto mode for navigating with Maps, a new way to operate from the notification screen and wireless files quickly settings for mobile connections, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi sharing via AirDrop.
What we can also expect is the announcement of the long awaited iRadio music service. Last weekend, Sony has signed a contract with Apple, so iRadio will be probably announced.
New MacBooks will probably be announced as well. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo expects Apple to introduce new MacBook Pro models at WWDC 2013, he also expects Apple will update MacBook Pro with Haswell processor. The 13-inch Macbook Pro would be thinner and better webcam will get on board. The Macbook Air would get two microphones so you can make better calls.
It does not seem that there will be announcements of new iPhone and iPad. We can be expecting these devices in the autumn of 2013 and in 2014, according to Tim Cook.
