Nokia has launched a new piece of Nokia accessories Nokia N8, C7, Nokia and Symbian smartphones: Nokia Digital Radio Headset, DAB. As DVB-H TV adapter announced a few weeks ago, this product adds additional hardware and software features to the unit’s USB On-The-Go feature. DAB digital radio provides a much clearer reception, less interference and better audio quality than traditional analog radio, and has proved a huge success in Europe. The device also supports the new DAB standard which uses a more efficient audio codec. The adapter works automatically when you connect it to the micro-USB port on the Nokia N8 and come with ergonomic in-ear headphones – it can also be used with your own headset if it has a 3.5 mm jack. The device also provides call management, channel and volume controls. The adapter weighs 30.5g and measures 55 x 23 x 14.5mm.
Radio programs on the Mobile Phone allows you to select and store channels, it shows the artists and songs, and will show pictures when broadcasters are offering them. Using a feature called Smart Tuning, it automatically selects the clearest reception in cases where the selected drive is on the alternative frequencies. The software will either be on the mobile device or can be downloaded from the Ovi Store and device support pages.
It is the Nokia N8 accessories that also work with Nokia C7, E7 Nokia, Nokia C6-01 and in the future ^ 3 Symbian devices that have USB On-The-Go feature. The device will be available during the fourth quarter of 2010.
